Shui Yuet Kwun Yum Tong

The Shui Yuet temple is only a stone’s throw from the large, well known Man Mo temple on Hollywood Rd. It is the smallest of the temples in this area and is easily overlooked because it is little bigger than a shopfront. Heavy coils of incense hang above the entrance. As you enter, you’ll see a bold yellow wall with rows of small gods on your left. These are the Tai Sui, the 60 gods who are responsible for the year. Hoping for a good year, people come to pay their respects to these gods.

The temple is dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, Kwun Yum and there is a larger altar statue of Kwun Yum alongside other altars. Across the road you’ll see another similar but slightly bigger temple and if you continue down the flight of stairs, you’ll see a much larger Kwong Fook Tsz temple, sitting perched high above a tall wall. If you are interested in seeing traditional temples, it is very easy to visit these ones which are all so close together. All the temples, including Man Mo, are free to enter.
